If you live in the West De Pere School District, your referendum passed. Voters approved a five-year, $24.5 million operational referendum, 6,087 to 4,891, that adds $4.9 million a year. The district is projecting a $2.6 million budget deficit this school year and a $3 million one next year, and leaders said costs have increased faster than the district can cut them.
Green Bay Area Public Schools voters passed a four-year, $158 million referendum by about 4,000 votes. It follows a 10-year-old, $16.5 million referendum that expires after this year. The district also won't need another referendum in the spring, WLUK reported.
- West De Pere tax impact: net zero expected
- Green Bay tax impact: no rate increase expected
- Results are unofficial until canvassed in the coming days
- Two other district referendums were still undecided at 10:26 p.m.
