If you shop the Piggly Wiggly on Swan Road, it's getting a new owner. Fox Bros. Piggly Wiggly announced Nov. 2 that it agreed to buy the De Pere and Kaukauna stores from Stoneridge Meat and Country Market, effective Jan. 31, 2027. The Hartland-based grocer is 100% employee-owned, and its employee stock ownership plan will be open to both stores' employees.
Stoneridge says the sale gives it more time for its wholesale division, which makes snack sticks, sausages and other items. President Duane Detjens called the ownership stake "an outstanding benefit for them."
